Portfolio Development Summer 2025 - 12 Week Concept Art & Design Workshop

What you need to know:
- This is a 12 week Portfolio Development workshop, with a focus on concept art and design.
- Class will meet all together online twice each month, via private Discord channel. Once at the start of each month for a 'Kickoff Meeting', where homework will be assigned and for an Instructor Demo. And then once near the end of each month for an official 'Homework Submission & Critique Meeting'.
- Our first 'Kickoff Meeting' begins on Tuesday June 10th @ 12pm PDT. Final 'HW Submission & Critique Meeting' is Thursday August 28th @ 12pm PDT.
- All Class Meeting dates are as follows:
- Kickoff Meetings - 06/10, 07/08, 08/05
- Homework Submission & Critique Meetings - 06/26, 07/24, 08/28
- Class Meetings will run for no longer than 2 hours, with a hard stop at 2pm PDT.
- All class meetings will be recorded and made available to students via private video links.
- Private meetings (Apprenticeship Tier and Mentorship Tiers) will take place separately via Google Meet.
- Apprenticeship Tier and Mentorship Tier availability is limited.
- Audit option available ($100 - this option does not include feedback on your Portfolio Project)
- All workshop participants receive permanent access to the Shapecarver Discord.
About the Instructor:
Scott Flanders (Shapecarver) is a concept artist and art director with over a decade working in the video game industry. He got his start on the cult favorite shooter 'Evolve'. His list of clients and collaborators includes: Turtle Rock Studios, Riot Games, Wargaming, Ready at Dawn, Vision Ward, Little Bang, Laguna College of Art + Design, Flashgitz, Brainstorm School, Pixologic, Lightbox, and Proko.com.
